When the program Tertulias Viajeras (Traveler Social Gatherings), offered us the opportunity to speak along with such great, innovative people as Doris Casares and José Luis Sarralde, we did not hesitate to say ‘Yes’! Also, the topic of “Secret Corners” is one El Boquerón Viajero’s favorites. Wherever we travel, we are constantly looking out for out-of-the-way places that are not as well known. The travelers in the room, instantly put me at ease. You could learn a lot just by listening to everyone interact. The excellent organization of Sele, Cristina, David & Pak Munoz made it all possible.

We are very excited! We have just been invited to be speakers at "Tertulias Viajeras", an event celebrated in Madrid, where people who love the art of traveling and discovering the world meet and share their travel experiences. The "Tertulias Viajeras" was created by four hopelessly romantic travelers. Their only goal is to provide a forum where people can comment and talk freely about their experiences based on a chosen topic. The topic for this occasion could not be better: "Secret spots around the world". If you know Rusko, you know that he is famous for discovering places that are off the beaten path.

We heard about the “Feria of the Tapa" in Madrid and decided that is where we must go! Taking advantage of not traveling this weekend, we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to further our knowledge of events in the villages of Madrid. Especially since this is the town where we celebrated our civil wedding ceremony and will always be near to our hearts. We had never heard of this feria before, but apparently the traditional Ruta of the Tapa in San Fernando takes place every year, this being the sixth edition.

We are traveling a lot in the month of April! This weekend, once again, we are going to the South of Spain to visit Cadiz and some parts of the province. It will be a very short visit and we will have to squeeze in all the spots we’d like to see, but we are very excited about visiting Cadiz and decided we just had to take advantage of the opportunity. We looked at the weather and it will be sunny! Rusko has rested enough from our last trip and is ready to begin the next.

We are happy to announce that we are going on a new trip! Each trip is an opportunity for meeting new people and getting a different point of view, even if its a place we´ve visited in the past. We were lucky enough to spend a day in Calpe, our destination for this weekend, two years ago. It was one of our stops during the Rusko Summer Route 2011 (we´ve sure come a long way since then!) It was one of our favorite stops along the coast and where we had the best paella there! We hope this weekend serves as a repeat experience!
