Taking advantage of our stay in Málaga during the summer, and since it was on our "to do list" of places to visit, we went to enjoy the city of Marbella and eat on the beach. The restaurant we chose was one of the Group "La Pesquera," specifically, "El Faro" which is in front of the sea on the boardwalk of Marbella, which gave us beautiful views to enjoy along with the delicious food. Our friends from the Guarderia Marbella came with us.
The location of the restaurant next to the lighthouse, on the best beach of Marbella (and one of the best of Malaga), makes the restaurant very attractive. When we arrived they gave us two refreshing beers while we waited for our friends, which was both polite and nice of them. They had a table booked for us on the sand area, because when we go to a "chiringuito" (a restaurant next to the sea) we love feeling the sea air and don´t mind getting dirty if it is necessary.

After sitting down we became even hungrier and our mouths were watering after seeing the fantastic aspect of the food. The options are numerous, as they have all the possible kinds of fried or grilled fish. Also you will be able to enjoy different rice, salads and other Mediterranean food. At this time, took the advice of the maître who knew to sell the food well, although with our hunger it was easy.

For the aperitif, they gave us a "espetos" (sardines cooked in a special way in Malaga) which were amazingly good. The espeto has become an obsession of mine since having moved to Madrid. Then, and without a break, we shared a plate of "pijotas" which were so good. Finally the dish that the waiter had talked up to us, and we decided to try, although when the waiter tries to sell us a dish it always makes me suspicious. In the end, the waiter was right and I think that here they won the fifth boqueron. A delicious and perfectly cooked sea bass.

We could say that Restaurant El Faro is a good restaurant disguised as a "chiringuito", containing the best parts of both. The attentive service, the quality of the food, and the atmosphere that we could enjoy next to the sea and the details have earned them a ruskommendation of 5 boquerones.
