Muchosol: The Comfort of an Apartment With the Ease of a Hotel

Muchosol offers vacation apartments in popular destinations across Europe. Our experience in Valencia was fantastic and they are pet friendly!

Recently we took a city break and headed up the coast to spend a few days in Valencia. We’d visited the city before, so this time we were a bit more knowledgeable when we were looking for a place to stay. On our previous trip we were in an area that was neither in the historic center nor the beach; so this time we knew we wanted to find a place to stay closer to the center (especially since we were traveling in December and it wasn’t exactly beach weather!) The other issue we had to consider was our dog, Dino. We wanted to make sure he could come along on our city break and that limited our hotel possibilities considerably. We had heard about Muchosol, a website with vacation apartments that seemed to share our philosophy on travel. We decided to try making a reservation with them and we couldn’t have been happier.

The apartment where we stayed was on the Carrer del Mar just a few minutes walk from the Plaza de la Reina, so our first worry was where to park. Luckily, the folks at Muchosol had this covered. When we pulled up to the door, a lady from Singular Stays was waiting for us with the key to the garage. She explained that Muchosol works with different private apartment owners and that Singular Stays had several apartments in the building. She welcomed us into a huge garage which clearly used to be a carriage house when the building was a palace. This was definitely a good start.

The apartment itself was bright, clean and had everything we needed. There was a small kitchen, a washing machine and laundry area, a dining table and living room with the sofa and television. The bedroom was spacious and had an ensuite bathroom complete with little hotel soaps. It was the perfect space for a couple and a small dog. They explained that if we had been traveling with a small child they would also be able to accommodate those needs, as well. After a day of driving, we were happy to find a complimentary box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates on the table as a little welcome gift.

One of the things we had worried about when deciding to stay in an apartment was the fact that you would be more or less “on your own” at your destination. In the case of Muchosol, this was not the case, however. We had the phone number of the people at Singular Stays in case anything went wrong or if we needed anything while in Valencia. Another positive was the fact that they told us that we didn’t have to clean the apartment before leaving. All we did was leave things more or less as we had found them. (It was much easier than other vacation homes we’ve rented!)

After getting settled into the apartment, we were really happy to have chosen a place in the city center. We took a walk to the nearby Barrio del Carmen and had dinner in a quirky little place called Restaurant La Carme with a delicious menu that hasn’t changed much over the years (but then again, that just means they know how to prepare everything expertly!) It was so nice to park the car and leave it for the weekend without worrying about street parking.

Overall our experience with Muchosol was very positive. We loved having the security of both Muchosol and the apartments that are owned by professionals. We didn’t have to worry about any unwelcome surprises or how clean the apartment would be upon arrival. Muchosol also has a good selection of destinations on the coast and different city breaks around Spain and Europe. Their prices are competitive and it’s also nice to know that they have multi-lingual service, so you can feel at home from the moment you make your reservation. We also recommend it as a pet friendly option in lots of great destinations.
