The Inn at Hastings Park, a place you will always remember. The service, the setting, the atmosphere, breakfast and the rooms make this hotel an ideal place to stay in Lexington

When you first think of Lexington, Massachusetts, odds are that you think of the historical events that took place in this picturesque New England town, just 15 miles outside of Boston. The shot heard round the world, that began the American revolution back in 1775 was fired on the Battle Green, and Paul Revere rode through Lexington on his historic ride warning folks that the British were coming. Inns were a common feature in the New England landscape from the beginning as many merchants sought a place to rest and spend the night, especially when the weather took a turn for the worse. The Inn at Hastings Park seeks to rekindle that same hospitality, offering travelers to this beautiful New England town a place to stay and feel special from the minute they walk in the main hall to check in.

The property is made up of three restored buildings. The main hall and reception area is the former home to one of Lexington’s most prominent families. It was built in 1888 and is a beautiful blue grey victorian home in a typical New England style with a wrap around front porch and tasteful modern decor inside. The renovated home is at once polished and welcoming. The other house, where our room was located, is the Isaac Mullikan house, named for the politician who lived there through the mid 19th century. The third building on the property was a former barn. All three buildings are beautifully redone in a classic modern style.

Our room, one of the two King Suites in the Isaac Mullikan House, included a sitting room for relaxing and watching television. French double doors opened into the bedroom area with a king sized bed covered by a soft cotton comforter and a gorgeous headboard that immediately made us feel both pampered and relaxed. The bathroom included a gorgeous double sink, as well as a shower that reminded us of a spa. The decor was all tones of beige and chocolate brown with hand printed wallpaper. It was a room that made us want to spend our whole day in the hotel (although there are a lot of things to see and do in the Lexington area). Each room is different at The Inn at Hastings Park, so you should make sure to consult the website for the room best suited to your needs and taste.

The Inn at Hastings Park also offers many amenities to its guests including a complimentary breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Artistry on the Green, coffee service each morning, Wi-Fi service throughout the property, 24-hour desk service, to name a few. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Artistry on the Green, which is tastefully decorated in grey blue tones and features a wall hanging of the american flag, as well as classic New England style wooden chairs. The servers were very attentive, and the food was delicious, a wonderful way to begin our day in Lexington.
