One of the things to do in Paris that I had in mind was to cruise across the Seine. I was so excited – I didn’t know what to expect. We arrived, all dressed up, at the Restaurant La Marina, a luxury boat where you can dine while enjoying a short cruise. It was wonderful, especially seeing the surprise on Abby’s face. The River Seine is an excellent backdrop for romance! For 2 ½ hours we cruised the river. The best part was when the boat stopped in front of the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower was illuminated.

As a restaurant, everything was perfect (although I expected better service for the price, it was still acceptable). There were different options. I had booked a dinner with drinks. It included different appetizers, a plate of meat or fish and a plate of assorted desserts. We also ordered champagne, coffee and cheese. The price was 200 euros, but it was definitely worth it, because this was a once in a lifetime experience.

We left the boat and it was so cold even polar bears would have stayed home. Despite the cold and after having seen Montmartre, we decided to walk to the Eiffel Tower and stand under its illumination. After a long walk around the Seine we finally arrived at the tower. The picture of us together under the tower is a picture impossible to forget. Then we headed back to the hotel.

The streets of Paris were more deserted as we walked further and we needed to find a subway. We arrived in time to take the train. When we got off the train to transfer however, there were two exits and, of course, we took the wrong one. We decided to wait for the next train, even though it was late and it wasn’t the best area. Luckily we caught the last train to the hotel! We ruskommend this experience as one of our unforgettable experiences in Paris, giving it 4 boquerones.
