Walking through Queens on a sunny Sunday morning is one of the more relaxing experiences in New York. Its a part of the city that is more residential and less touristy, but at the same time it is the most multicultural county in the United States, and therefore, also one of the best places in New York to find authentic foods from around the world. So, as we walked through Long Island City looking for a place to have lunch, Bella Via Restaurant caught our eye.

Exterior Bella Via Restaurant, Long Island CityWhen we went inside, the atmosphere of this Long Island City pizzeria was just like the neighborhood: family oriented, calm and friendly servers who made you feel right at home. After being seated at one of the big windows so we could watch the people pass by, we tried to decide what to try. One of the things that I found most interesting was that you could see how they made the pizzas to order.

After reading through the menu and listening to the waitress’ recommendations, we decided that the best idea would be to share. We settled on an appetizer of grilled calamari with a sauce made from nuts and vegetables that was delicious. Later the pizza arrived. Just so you know, the small pizza is big enough for two people. If you ask for the large pizza, keep in mind that they are really large! We chose one that was cheese, meat and broccoli. It was delicious!

In terms of price, we paid 40 dollars including tip and we enjoyed the food we ordered, as well as the relaxed ambiance of the restaurant. That’s why we decided to share the place with all of you! We ruskommend the Bella Via Restaurant with 4 boquerones and invite you all to take a walk through Queens and Long Island City if you are visiting New York.
