Casa Adela New York will make you feel right at home with their authentic Puerto Rican dishes

Casa Adela New York

One of the most gratifying things about living in New York City, is the vast quantity of restaurants and different kinds of food that you can find. I was hungry and wanted to try Puerto Rican food. To be honest, I’ve never tried Puerto Rican food, but I knew that New York offers a lot of options. So I started to search for unique Puerto Rican restaurants in NYC. After a while I found Casa Adela New York, with reviews from people about how it stands out from the ordinary and has a nice atmosphere.

Since Abby couldn’t be with me, I rode a bicycle to Alphabet City. The restaurant is at Avenue C, close to the East River, at one time a dangerous neighborhood. Now it is a quiet, residential área that removes you from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Casa Adela New York is a small, but nice place which displays both the American and Puerto Rican flags, inviting you to come inside.

Casa Adela New York is very small, but it rings true and has a charm all its own. I felt like I was going to someone’s home to eat. The owner, an old woman, reminded me of my mother or grandmother waiting to serve me a meal. I sat at a large, central table and after sitting down I could imagine I was in another country. Many of the dishes seemed a lot like Spanish ones, so of course I felt at home!

Because I am a meat-lover and the meat casserole reminded me of one of my favorite dishes from my mother, the decisión of what to order was easy. After my food arrived the thought crossed my mind that my mother must have somehow communicated to the restaurant owner the huge quantity of food I usually eat. What a wonderful casserole – it had meat, potatoes, black beans and white rice. I must admit, I couldn’t finish everything, but the food was delicious! Food made with love and in a familiar atmosphere – for someone far from home – this is golden!

I ruskommend Casa Adela Nueva York with 4 boquerones due to the authentic Puerto Rica food, atmosphere and for making me feel at home. I’m sure that after going to Casa Adela Nueva York, you will say ‘thank you’ to Rusko for his advice. Go boricua taste!
