One of the greatest pleasures on a Sunday morning has got to be having brunch with your good friends or significant other, reading the newspaper and letting the day lazily unfold. That being said, everyone has their favorite brunch spot and one of Rusko´s top picks has got to be Pamela’s Diner in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As you walk in the door, you are greeted by the rich aroma of coffee mixed with the sweet smell of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. This is your classic diner breakfast perfected to the point that Pamela’s Diner has got to be on your list of places to stop in Pittsburgh. The last time we were in town, we stopped by the Pamela’s Diner in Oakland, by the University of Pittsburgh. This location is mainly filled with college students, but there are other locations in Squirrell Hill and Shadyside, so don´t be put off by the young clientele. The Oakland location is decorated in bright colors with board games tacked up on the walls, so as you eat, you can reminisce about your favorite childhood games. Another great “game related” feature is that on each table there are little stacks of Trivial Pursuit cards, so you can test your trivia knowledge as you wait for your pancakes and eggs to be served up!

The pancakes at Pamela’s Diner are served crepe style. I tried the chocolate chip and banana pancakes with a side of sausage, and it was divine. The sweet pancakes were thin without losing their pancake identity (I know…I´m waxing poetic about a breakfast food, but it really is THAT good!) Pedro tried the scrambled eggs with a side of tomato, toast and Canadian bacon. I can also ruskommend the omlettes with home fries from previous visits. This was accompanied, as is any good brunch by orange juice and coffee.
